Tom Cavanaugh is a celebrated playwright, screenwriter, and filmmaker known for his captivating and award-winning work. After earning his M.F.A. in Playwriting from the Actors Studio Drama School, Tom began
a prolific career marked by numerous accolades and professional recognition.

 

His plays have been showcased at prestigious festivals, including the New American Playwrights Program at the Utah Shakespeare Festival for BEHOLD and ADAM & YOSHI. Tom's play INLAND EMPRESS premiered in Los Angeles and has been published by Next Stage Press, while his short play, ROCKS ON THE PLAYA, won the Artists & Playwright Festival in Binghamton, NY.

Tom's talent extends to film, where his screenplay of BEHOLD won Best Feature Screenplay at the Bowery Film Festival and his comedy screenplay BEDBUGGERS was a Grand Prize winner at the 2024 Fade In Awards. His short film SERVICE ME has also received multiple awards, including Best Comedy at the LA Independent Film Channel Festival.

In addition to his playwriting and screenwriting, Tom's innovative Zoom show, NOW, NOW, NOW…, earned a prestigious OVATION AWARD at the Hollywood Fringe.

A dedicated member of The Actors Gym and other theatrical organizations, Tom continues to create compelling stories. His most recent project, the play BARKLEE, has been chosen for a Main Stage Development Program at AMT Theater Off-Broadway, solidifying his place as a rising voice in the New York theater scene.
